In some cases, clients want to focus on their overall sense of life fulfillment and satisfaction. They seek to be more mindful and aware, gain insight into their thoughts, feelings and behaviors or change certain life patterns or the direction of their lives. In other cases, clients need some help in specific areas of their lives such as setting and achieving goals and priorities or overcoming obstacles. Common areas clients seek to focus on include: self-esteem, relationships, health & wellness, career, time management, anger management, stress management, grief, or concerns related to aging or sexuality. Left unresolved, these issues may permeate or overtake other areas of our lives and further reduce our ability to truly enjoy life.
My goal is to help clients live better, fuller lives. I work extensively with clients coping with a range of psychological concerns including: anxiety, depression, stress, phobias, anger issues, obsessions and compulsions, bipolar disorder, as well as substance abuse or dependence. In addition to my private practice, I have worked at a local hospital treating patients and training doctoral students providing treatment in these areas. I have extensive experience with these conditions and concerns and can help you if you are struggling in one of these areas. I also specialize in several other areas:
Professional Growth & Career Related Concerns
Another area of particular interest to me is helping people faced with work stress, career issues and transitions as well as professional development concerns. Work consumes a large portion of our time and is the basis for much of how we think about ourselves. Work-related stress and difficulties have increased and affect our overall level of life satisfaction. Career satisfaction is a critical area of focus for many of my clients. I pursued a career in psychology after a successful business and technology career. My prior experience gives me a unique perspective when working with my clients.
Health Issues
I also specialize in working with clients with health and wellness concerns. I can help if you are struggling with adjustment to a recent diagnosis, trying to manage a chronic illness or chronic pain, or want to improve your overall health and well-being.
One example of my experience in this area, is my work with clients from the Northern California Multiple Sclerosis Society. My work with these clients includes helping them: adjust to the diagnosis, cope with the losses due to the disease, manage chronic pain and physical limitations, and adapt their self-image. Receiving a diagnosis of a serious illness or injury is a life-changing event. Patients must learn to adapt very quickly to determine what the disease or injury means in the context of their lives as well as how it affects their functioning, relationships and their futures. Patients must also consider treatment alternatives or ways to adapt to any limitations. And, most importantly, patients must emotionally incorporate what their illness or injury means about them and their lives.
Personal Growth / Life Coaching
Whether you would like to work on issues within a specific relationship or learn how you can better interact with those around you, I can help. I help people explore and improve their interactions with their partners which leads to deeper, more positive and meaningful relationships. I also help people explore how they relate with others in general and help them find more constructive and effective ways to relate with others. This work generally leads to deeper, more satisfying connections with others around them.
ADD/ADHD
I help clients who struggle with symptoms such as having difficulty focusing and maintaining their attention, setting and following plans, achieving goals, and avoiding impulsive decisions. In addition, often people with ADD/ADD also struggle maintaining positive relationships. We will leverage a proven, evidence-based collaborative approach based on the work of Barlow, Safren and Perlman to help alleviate your symptoms and help you improve your life and reach your goals.
Organizational Services / Areas of Specialization

• Improving communication,
• Resolving conflict,
• Providing feedback to employees and team members, and
• Addressing employee performance issues.
